Job Title: Wireless Engineer

Location: Preston / Field Based

Salary: £28,000 – £32,000 + travel allowance

A growing managed service provider is looking to bring in Wireless, WiFi and Network support engineers to expand their team. They are a growing company, who focus their work on SME and large enterprise customers across the UK. Working with multiple technologies, they align they focus on supporting Network, Cloud and overall Wireless solutions

About the Wireless Engineer role

The Wireless Engineer will be a key part of the team to support end users, enterprise clients and work as a desktop support engineer when required. As a Wireless Engineer, you will have a good understanding of supporting customers directly and have an eagerness to learn. You will have experience in working with Cabling, Fibre and copper. You will report directly to the Line Manager and have multiple opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

• Ensuring 1st time fix to SME and large enterprise clients, negating the need for additional site visits
• Travel across the UK delivering solutions to multiple clients
• Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will be involved in supporting users at all levels, troubleshooting tickets and escalating issues to the 2nd and 3rd lines
• Your key focus is to provide support to act as the first response to escalations, as well as assisting the senior engineers with new builds and installations

Skills & experience required for the Wireless Engineer

• Carry out installations and upgrades of equipment
• Experience in delivering wireless solutions
• Setting up new Wireless APs
• Experience with any wireless vendors: Cisco, Cisco Meraki, Cambium, MikroTik
• Install hardware and software to meet client requirements
• Deliver cabling, copper and fibre installations
• Knowledge of LAN/WAN Networks
• Have customer liaising experience
• Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
