Job Title: Technical Design Manager

Location: Remote, UK Based

Salary: £75,000 – £90,000

My client is a leading UK based IT Managed Service Provider and Consultancy with offices throughout the UK. They deliver IT and Network services to a variety of customers including but not limited to the public sector, finance, FMCG, and Aviation. They pride themselves on being involved in long term client engagements, regularly delivering multi-million point, multi-year projects.

Technical Design Manager Overview

Acting as a senior stakeholder, you will manage several aspects of a large public sector client engagement. Your role will be accountable to the project sponsor, ensuring key program deliverables from a design perspective are met. You will ensure technical resource in designing appropriate solutions within key guidelines and governance. This is not a technical hands-on position, whether a Network, Systems, or associated services, you will ensure Technical Architects documentation is fit for customer perusal.

• Lead the delivery of a multimillion-pound multi-skilled workstream
• Be accountable to key customer stakeholders
• Review design documentation ensuring it is fit for purpose and aligned to client ask
• Manage a team of technical consultants from varying technical disciplines
• Comfortable articulation of technical solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Skills / Experience required for the Technical Design Manager

• Strong Customer facing experience within a large project
• Good technical experience in either Network, Microwave Communication, Service Provider Networks, Satellite or Systems
• Leadership and people management skills, with demonstrable experience of driving team performance to meet project demand
• IT Managed Service or Consultancy experience is essential
• Experienced in leading multi-skilled teams of technical consultants
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and design as well as fantastic written English
