About the Service Desk Engineer role

The Service Desk Engineer will be a key part of the support and build teams. You will have a good understanding of supporting customers directly and have an eagerness to learn. You will report directly to the Line Manager and have multiple opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

  • Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will be involved in supporting new services, assisting on configurations, and working on all systems, covering set-ups and storage back-ups.
  • Your key focus is to provide support to act as the first response to escalations, as well as assist the senior engineers with new builds and installations.

 

Skills & experience

  • 2 years experience working with VMware
  • Experience working with vSphere
  • Experience working with Veeam, and providing Storage Backups
  • Have a good understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and network related issues
  • Have experience supporting Office 365
  • Ideally have Managed Service experience
  • Have customer liaising experience
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
