Salary – Up to £30,000

Location – Cheshire

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2nd line Service Desk Engineer to join a Cheshire based company that are partners with multiple vendors including Microsoft, Dell and VM Ware. A chance to gain exposure to Cloud technologies including Microsoft Azure as well as Hyper Converged Infrastructure and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure!


The Role

As 2nd line engineer, you will have a keen focus on customer support as you will be responsible for escalations that have been raised. You will respond to faults and travel to customer sites across the north to solve any issues at hand (UK Driving License and access to own car essential). You will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience, working on some of the latest technologies. There is also the opportunity for exposure to project work, to grow and develop your skills.

  • Primarily you will act as first response to escalations, as well as supporting senior engineers.
  • You will be working closely with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • You will support customers remotely from the Cheshire office as well as travelling to the customer site when necessary.
  • Respond and travel to sites to solve the issue at hand.


Skills and experience required for the Service Desk Engineer position 

  • A strong methodical approach in troubleshooting tickets
  • Experience working with Active Directory
  • Experience working with Exchange
  • Have a good understanding of Windows Server and Office 365
  • Experience in bespoke applications, desktop, mobile, laptop support would be beneficial
  • Ideally have Managed Service experience
  • Have customer liaising experience
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
  • Must have a UK Driving License
  • 2 years’ experience within an IT service desk
