Location: Remote, Home Based

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

A Global Managed Service Provider are seeking a Senior Linux Engineer to work from home supporting their customer’s Servers and systems in alignment with their SLAs and contractual agreements. They offer an abundance of training and development opportunities. You will get the opportunity to work on the latest and most up and coming technologies including security solutions and automation. The Role

As the Senior Linux Engineer, you will oversee diagnostics, investigations, and monitoring of the Global provider’s platforms, ensuring that the customer’s services are running at maximum efficiency, and at the highest quality. The Senior Linux Engineer will also manage all documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure SLA’s are met. This is a remote role, however, may require occasional visits to Camberley when required.

 

Senior Linux Engineer Overview

  • Monitor, investigate, and diagnose any issues with the bespoke infrastructure platforms including Linux, VMware, and a variety of networking skills
  • Working with both Technical and Non-technical staff, as the key point of contact
  • Ensure SLA’s are met, Documentation is correct, and Policies and procedures are in place
  • Assist the Engineering, Project Managers, and third-party carriers on reports

 

Skills / Experience required for the Senior Linux Engineer

  • Must be eligible for SC Clearance
  • Must have a strong understanding of Linux and related technologies
  • Act as a Senior Escalation point to support staff
  • Good understanding of VMware and related network infrastructure
  • Knowledge of Automation and Ansible would be beneficial, however, not essential
  • Have previous experience monitoring, investigating, and diagnosing issues
  • Have customer-facing experience
  • Ideally of come from a managed service background or experience managing multiple environments
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical, and non-technical staff
