The Company

An award-winning, Cisco Gold Partner are looking for a Senior Core Network Engineer to manage, maintain and develop their network. The business partners with leading vendors such as Cisco and Fortinet, meaning you’ll have support in earning vendor certifications. You’ll also have the opportunity to deliver cutting-edge digital transformation projects.

As Senior Core Network Engineer you will be involved in designing and implementing brand new solutions including SD-WAN. While you will be based in Manchester, you will be supported to work however works best for you in a hybrid environment.

Senior Core Network Engineer Role & Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Networks, your will be the backbone of the business and integral to customer platforms. Additionally, you will:

• Be responsible for troubleshooting technical issues.
• Be responsible for testing and evaluating new technologies, supporting the future development of the business.
• Set-up and management of firewalls.
• Design, implement and support network solutions that adhere to individual customer specifications.

This role does involve working on the out of hours on-call rota, as part of the network support team.

Skills and Experience

The business is committed to the development of its team through individually tailored training and support in gaining new Cisco and Juniper certifications, but does ask that you have:

• 5+ years’ experience working for a Manager Network or Service Provider environment.
• Cisco CCNP or equivalent level certification.
• Fortinet NSE Level 4 or experience at the same level.
• Experience managing and monitoring networks.
• Knowledge of various VPN and tunnelling technologies such as IPSEC VPN, IPVPN etc.
• Knowledge of routing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS etc.
• The ability to communicate effectively with customers.
