Job Title: Security Analyst

Location: Cambridge

Salary: £45,000

A leading Aerospace and Defense organisation, is looking for a Security Analyst to join their office in Cambridge. The Security Analyst will play a crucial role in the monitoring of Security threats, for a number of high-profile customers across government, defense and aeronautic organisations.

About the Security Analyst role

As a Security Analyst, you will provide an integral role in the day to day monitoring of Security threats for this organisations key customers. Using their SIEM tool, you will monitor potential threats feeding back into key stakeholders and offering remediation solutions. You will manage and maintain, network, Intrusion Detection and Intrusion Prevention systems.

Desired experience

• Someone with previous experience in a SOC environment
• Previous experience with SIEM monitoring tools – Splunk would be preferred
• Strong networking background
• Someone who is driven with a strong work ethic
• Good understanding of IDS/ IPS
• Good firewall experience
• Experience with Anti-virus and Web filtering tools
• Passionate about Security with a keenness to learn
• A team player, capable of working independently
• Someone able to look at things analytically

Desired skills for the Security Analyst

• Minimum 18 months experience
• Previous experience working with Splunk
• Eligible for SC Clearance
• Relevant Microsoft networking certifications – Not essential
• Cisco firewall certifications or equivalent
