The Company

A Service Provider is seeking a home based Network Design Engineer to be a key part of the design and planning teams. You will report directly to the Head of Engineering and be the initiator in future services they will offer.

The Network Design Engineer role

• You will be working on Greenfield projects
• Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will manage the Network Designs, assist in planning and strategies being rolled out across the transport industry
• You will analyse networks, connectivity, and performance, liaise with clients, and assess how improvements can be made.
• You will be a hands-on Engineer, who will assist in implementations when required

Skills & experience required for the Network Design Engineer

• Must be eligible for SC clearance
• Must have a high level of understanding in the IP and SDH Networks
• Have strong Cisco experience and ideally be CCNP certified however, not essential
• Must have experience of the full life cycle
• Must have at least 5 years experience working on high-level, and low-level design’s
• Have previous rail experience working with tools such as Cramer, OSS, and NRDT
• Ideally have a managed service background
• Have customer-facing experience
• Must be able to interphase with both sales and technical staff
