Job Title: Platform Engineer

Location: London – Remote/ Hybrid

Salary: Up to £550 a day outside IR35

Contract Length: 6 Months

 

The Company

Due to the continued success of the business and expansion of their team, an industry-leading and world-renowned IT Service Provider is looking for a Platform Engineer to join their team on a hybrid/ remote basis, with only occasional travel to the London office when required.

The business is a true titan-of-industry, with over 10 million users nationally, including Central Government, leading Internet Providers, and highly Critical Network Infrastructures. Due to the service, they provide, you must be a UK resident and eligible to pass DBS clearance if necessary.

The Company are now looking to advance their services even more by building their very own private Automated platform.

 

Platform Engineer Roles & Responsibilities

As the Platform Engineer, you will join the projects team in overseeing the design and build of the new platform. You will also manage all documentation, policies, and procedures to ensure SLA’s are met. At the same time, you will be learning and developing your skills towards projects and management.

Your additional responsibilities will include:

  • Work with the Architecture team to create the designs.
  • Run the build and implementation.
  • Write and script code.
  • Working with both technical and non-technical staff, as the key point of contact.
  • Monitor, investigate, and diagnose any issues with the managed Service servers.
  • Ensure SLA’s are met, documentation is correct, and policies and procedures are in place.

 

Skills & Experience

The business will support you to work however is best for you and has an efficient onboarding process to help you get stuck into the projects and team you work on. The business does ask that you have:

  • Must have UK citizenship.
  • Experience working on Linux platforms.
  • Previous experience with Python.
  • Experience with DNS servers is ideal, but not essential.
  • Must have Previous experience monitoring, investigating, and diagnosing issues with Servers.
  • Have experience working with Linux Servers.
