Location: Remote (UK-based)

Salary: £500 per day – Inside IR35

Contract Length: 12 Months

 

The Company

An organization at the forefront of providing data connectivity platforms for major cellular networks in the country is looking for a Platform Engineer for a 12-month contract.

They have recently embarked on a build of their very own on-premise platform and are searching for a Platform Engineer to help lead the way.

This role is fully remote, with no expectations to travel to the company office. You must, however, be currently based in the UK with full working rights to be considered for this role.

 

About the Platform Engineer Role

This role is an exciting opportunity to join a growing agile development team responsible for the complete lifecycle of cutting-edge, greenfield projects.

As Platform Engineer, you will contribute to the creation of Infrastructure As Code (IaC), and help with the build of the Linux OS, with Kubernetes clusters on top. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Take the lead on DevOps from a technical perspective.
  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for their on-premise platform
  • Build the IaC in Terraform, with Kubernetes Clusters on to.
  • Work closely with the Developers to transition to full CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with the QA and development teams.
  • Follow the Test-Driven Development methodology.

 

Skills & Experience Required for the Platform Engineer

You will be supported to work how is best for you, with flexible and remote working. The business does ask that you have:

  • Must have significant experience working with on-premise platforms.
  • Have experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Strong background in Linux and Software Development
  • Experience with Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Proficient with monitoring and testing tools.
  • Familiarity with CICD practices.
  • Knowledge of Event Driven process with Kafka
