About the NOC Team Lead role
The NOC Team Lead will be a key part of the team, leading a team of 4 engineers in supporting and resolving issues for medium to large enterprise clients. The right person will be in a split role, making sure the team has what they need, working to SLAs, ensuring clients are happy, as well as working across 1st and 2nd line network support.
Key focus to lead and motivate a team of NOC Engineers
Be the customers’ central point of contact, from initial query to final resolutions
Manage and troubleshoot all issues
Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will be involved in supporting new services, assisting on configurations, and working on all systems: network monitoring, trip and alarm tracking, basic diagnostics, troubleshooting and connecting devices.
Your key focus is to provide support and act as the first response to escalations, as well as assisting the senior engineers
Skills & experience required for the NOC Team Lead
2 years experience working in a team lead position
Have 4-5 years’ experience in working in network support
Experience working with Juniper, Brocade, Extreme and/or Cisco
A strong understanding of OSPF and BGP
An understanding of MPLS networks
Experience working with Avaya, VoIP and security
Have a good understanding of WAN protocols, routing protocols and switching
Ideally have managed service experience
Have customer liaising experience
Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
