A market leading Cloud, Security and Network specialised ISP is seeking a NOC Engineer to work out of their easily accessible office in central London. They deliver solutions to their client base across the private and public sector, delivering Cloud, Virtual Data Centre, WAN, SD-WAN and Cloud Telephony solutions.

 

About the NOC Engineer role

The NOC Engineer will be a key part of the team, supporting a resolving issues for medium to large enterprise clients. As a NOC Engineer, you will have a good understanding of supporting customers directly and have an eagerness to learn. You will provide 2nd line escalation point support, on both a proactive and reactive basis. This is a shift-based role, on a 4 on 4 off, 24/7 shift rota.

  • Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will be involved in supporting new services, assisting on configurations, and working on all systems, network monitoring, trip and alarm tracking, basic diagnostics, troubleshooting and connecting devices
  • Your key focus is to provide support to act as the first response to escalations, as well as assisting the senior engineers

 

Skills & experience required for the NOC Engineer

  • CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA or JNCIS qualification or equivalent experience
  • 18 months to 2 years experience working in network support
  • Experience working with Cisco, Juniper and/or Brocade
  • Understanding of OSPF, BGP, MPLS
  • Server based knowledge across Windows and/or Linux
  • VMware vSphere and/or Citrix knowledge
  • Good security and firewalling knowledge, VPN set ups and troubleshooting
  • Have a good understanding of WAN protocols, routing protocols, switching
  • Ideally have ISP experience
  • Have customer liaising experience
