We have a NOC Engineer opportunity in Kent, for a fast-growing tech company with offices throughout the UK, Europe, and the USA who are looking to expand their operations team. They are looking for a 2nd line NOC Engineer to help support the operations. They primarily work with transport companies, bus, rail, and tram, across the UK.

 

About the NOC Engineer role

The NOC Engineer will be a key part of the team, supporting resolving issues for medium to large enterprise clients. As a NOC Engineer, you will have a good understanding of supporting customers directly and have an eagerness to learn. You will report directly to the Line Manager and will have multiple opportunities to grow and develop your skills.

Working with both technical and non-technical staff, you will be involved in supporting new services, assisting on configurations, and working on all systems: network monitoring, trip and alarm tracking, basic diagnostics, troubleshooting and connecting devices.

Your key focus is to provide support to act as the first response to escalations, as well as assisting the senior engineers.

 

Skills & experience required for the NOC Engineer

  • 2 years’ experience working in network support
  • CCNA certified
  • Experience working with Cisco
  • Experience working with Linux
  • Virtualisation, Scripting and Server knowledge
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN protocols, routing protocols, and switching
  • Experience in Managed Service
  • Have customer liaising experience
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers
