Job Title: Network Design Engineer

Location: Remote / Home Based

Salary: Up to £70,000 + car allowance

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Network Design Engineer to join one of the UK’s largest managed service providers. You will be working with the latest innovative technologies whilst providing solutions-based outcomes for clients. The organisation work on a variety of Critical Infrastructure and Enterprise projects for the public sector and private clients.

About the Network Design Engineer role

The Network Design Engineer is responsible for the design of multiple networking technology verticals, including the latest Software Defined technologies, LAN and WAN solutions. You will be working within the architecture team responsible for the design of medium to large enterprise projects. There is potential to upskill on the latest technologies, therefore it is essential you have a keen interest in networking and a passion for development.

• Design experience in one or more of the following network verticals – LAN / WAN / WLAN / Security
• In-depth understanding of Cisco or Juniper Routing and Switching
• Network Design Validation, a good understanding of developing design documentation
• Designing a variety of multi-disciplined greenfield and brownfield network environments

Skills & experience required for the Network Design Engineer

• UK based and SC clearable (do not need current SC clearance)
• Demonstrably working at minimum a CCNP level (certification preferable, not essential)
• Delivering, reviewing and validating high and low-level designs
• Experience with Greenfield network design would be preferred
• 4+ years enterprise networking experience
• Previous network or IT service provider experience would be preferred but not essential
• Excellent R&S knowledge – LAN / WAN / WLAN
• Exceptional communication skills
• Good written skills
• Comfortable with International travel
• Must be eligible to live and work in the EU
• Must be eligible for security clearance
