The Company

A Growing Data/Cyber consultancy is seeking a Junior Cyber Security Consultant. My client specialises in delivering market-leading Cyber and Data security solutions to the local and central government, defence, NHS, and education sectors. This company pride themselves on delivering excellence in customer service to their clients as well as strong progression plans and high-level technical training for their employees. This is a great opportunity for a Senior SOC analyst, who has experience client-side to get into a consultancy role.

 

The Role

The Junior Splunk Consultant will be a key part of the developing Cyber Consulting team. You will learn to provide high-quality consultation and advice on network issues and projects, whilst developing key products, services, and solutions. Deploying, integrating, Data Mapping, and on boarding SIEM (Splunk) into complex network environments. There will be multiple internal and external engagements, stakeholder management through evaluation whilst identifying security risks. You will have key input into looking at trends to alert for mitigation of DDoS, Insider, and Phishing attacks. Managing use case and operational use case, setting dashboards, SIEM tool tuning, and adding tailored technical addon’s.

 

Activities

  • On-premises and cloud onboarding
  • Stakeholder and end-user management
  • Manage security capabilities for clients (long- and short-term projects)
  • Working with SIEM IDS/IPS endpoint protection (Splunk)
  • Working with Security tools, programs, Methodologies, and security Frameworks
  • Analysis and interpreting of event Logs, Network traffic, and System logs.
  • Looking at trends to alert for mitigation of DDoS, Insider, and Phishing attacks
  • The setting of dashboards and technical addon’s
  • Consulting and delivering analysis and presenting from C-level down at technical and non-technical levels

 

Skills / Experience required for the Cyber Security Consultant

  • SIEM Experience (Splunk Preferred)
  • SOC experience
  • Some stakeholder management – consultancy in the security space (Cyber/ Network)
  • SC Cleared is advantageous
  • Knowledge of security tools
  • Knowledge of deploying, integrating, and supporting clients for the critical solutions in complex network environments.
  • Some experience in Event Logging, network traffic, system logs, and application logs experience
  • Experience with AWS/Azure (Not Essential)
  • CISSP, CCNP, SANS, CREST, SCC2 core or relative degree (Not Essential)
