About the IT Solutions Consultant role

  • Evaluate current systems and processes and suggest changes and improvements
  • Manage and maintain core infrastructure and documentation as appropriate
  • Monitor Server performance and disk space usage
  • Support 700 stores server database
  • Support retail warehouse databases
  • Maximise network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages
  • Report network operational status by gathering and prioritising information and managing projects
  • Manage Service Transition of new services into the team
  • Provide training and documentation to IT Service Desk and end users
  • Document instruction make it available for support operators and train them to analyse and react corresponding to the guidelines
  • Produce weekly and monthly KPI, SLA reports and incident analysis
  • Analyse and solve all complicated incidents across the country raised by IT support in Landesk / ServiceNow
  • Asset management, software delivery and remote connection through CA ITCM Domain server
  • Installation of test environment, application testing and pilot installation
  • Perform routine backups & archival of files to assist with disaster recovery
  • Establish monthly reports and statistics about software versions, health status of systems and services
  • Collaborate with project management teams, third-line engineers and service desk engineers on a regular basis

 

Skills & experience required for the IT Solutions Consultant

  • Knowledge of Release and Demand Management Processes
  • Experience in Project Management: Ability to run and plan projects
  • Ability to logically analyse problems and produce, source or specify solutions
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Identifying and correlating independent incidents to understand potential root causes
  • Problem solving mind set and being able to qualify, investigate and to resolve issues
  • Previous experience of at least one of the following core business systems; Back Office, Stock Management, Point of Sale, Personnel / Time Attendance Systems or CCTV Monitoring Systems
  • Strong ownership of tasks and a keen eye for detail
  • Proactive and keeping up to date with latest policies and procedures
  • The ability to multi-task and absorb new information
  • Practical working knowledge of ITIL v3 or higher would be desirable
