A fast growing, managed service provider and value-added reseller is looking for an Infrastructure Support Engineer to join their expanding Support team. The position is based out of their Newcastle or Durham offices but is offering hybrid working with opportunities to work-from-home.

The business offers fully managed services, across Cloud, Infrastructure, Hyper Converged Infrastructures and Enterprise Networks. With accreditations and partnerships across Microsoft VMware and Cisco, they lead the way in managed service solutions.

These partnerships with leading vendors also mean you will have support of the business with earning Microsoft or Cisco specific certifications.

 

Infrastructure Support Engineer Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Support Engineer, you will champion the use of a variety of technologies, ranging from but not limited to O365, Cloud Services Azure, VMware, SAN, and Networking. The primary function of the position will be to assist and support a variety of customers, from small and medium business to large enterprise.

  • Support and troubleshoot issues across Office 365, Virtual and Network Environments.
  • Customer facing, speaking with the end user to resolve issues.
  • Proactive and reactive support, from 2nd line ticket incidents to major incident resolution.
  • Advising customers on Microsoft and VMware’s latest products and services.
  • Keeping abreast of the latest technologies to hit the market.
  • Working with both Technical and Non-technical staff, you will create and confidently deliver technical presentations internally and externally.

 

Skills and Experience Required for the Infrastructure Support Engineer

The business offers hybrid working, with a mix of on-site and home working. In return, the business asks that you have/ are:

  • MUST be UK based.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in working across a Service Desk, 2nd, or 3rd line environment.
  • Experience with O365, SAN storage and Virtual Environments.
  • Ideally a background in working for a Managed Service Provider or experienced in support across multiple sites.
  • Microsoft, VMware, or equivalent certifications beneficial.
  • Have customer liaising experience.
  • Must be able to interphase with both technical and non-technical customers.
