The Company

A specialist managed service provider are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to be home-based with occasional travel to their offices near Oxford. They are a growing organisation and are looking to expand their infrastructure team services team with lots of training on offer. They work with the latest technologies, from DevOps and Cloud to focusing on delivering the best, most secure solutions to some high-profile clients.

The Role

As the Infrastructure Engineer, you will oversee projects and monitoring of a number of their client’s platforms, ensuring that the customer’s services are running at maximum efficiency. The Infrastructure Engineer will also proactively manage customer environments, not waiting for incidents but remediating before problems arise.

Senior Infrastructure Engineer Overview

• Infrastructure support across a mixed discipline environment, including network, server, and storage
• Investigate and troubleshoot incidents
• Acting as a point of escalation for client internal engineer
• Ensure SLA’s are met
• Assist the junior engineers and mentoring when required

Skills / Experience required for the Senior Infrastructure Engineer

• Must be eligible for SC Clearance
• Must have a good level of Network, Server, Virtualisation, and Linux experience
• Linux – Volumes, File System Conversions, User management, and authentication
• Network – Administration, Debugging connectivity issues
• Server – Deployment, administration
• Strong customer-facing experience in either an internal or external role
• Previous support experience
• Comfortable working from home
• Must be able to interphase with both technical, and non-technical staff
