The Company

An American based, seabed exploration company who are tasked with monitoring and searching areas of the ocean across the world. This is from searching for ship-wrecks, crash sites and geographical surveys. Their approach dramatically increases productivity and reduces downtime, making them one of the best in their field.


The Role

The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key part of the team, focusing directly on Support, monitoring and configuration of on-board IT systems. The candidate will be tasked at being at sea for 6 weeks at a time, with 6 weeks off. You could be anywhere in the world, from Argentina, to the Bahamas, Singapore to Perth. The right person will be confident in working on their own, with limited support. You will be there to manage the storage of important and vital information collected from multi-million pound equipment.


Infrastructure Engineer Overview:

  • Work on a 6-week rotational basis
  • Manage and monitor storage and backup systems
  • Support and troubleshoot Windows Servers and virtualisation stack
  • Work as the sole IT engineer, through end user support and fixing any issues
  • Provide regular professional, frequent and relevant communication
  • Delivery support and delivery of Microsoft OS, Servers, Virtualisation, storage, backup and cloud


The Person

Skills / Experience required for the Infrastructure Engineer:

  • 2 years’+ experience working in an Infrastructure Support based role
  • Experience working with storage tech, including but not limited to Nimble, HP MSA and MSA SSPs
  • Comfortable in working away from home for extended periods of time
  • Strong Windows Server experience, ideally Server 2016
  • Good understanding of Microsoft OS tech, including AD and Exchange
  • Fit and healthy, the ability to undergo physical tests
  • Must be able to inter phase with both technical and non-technical users
