The Company

An award-winning Cisco and Microsoft Partner are looking for a Business Development Director to join their fast-growing, industry-leading managed service and security provider.  This is a hybrid and flexible role based out of their Manchester office, and as such you must be commutable to the area.

The business offers a variety of technical services across multiple technologies, and primarily delivers into mid and large-scale enterprise clients. Your role will be crucial in driving the next stage in the company’s growth strategy, as you drive sales and new business acquisitions across the Sales team.

You will be supported by the Head of Sales, to hit the ground running and lead the businesses development efforts.

 

Business Development Director Role & Responsibilities

As Business Development Director you will work closely with senior members of the sales team to develop and execute the company’s sales strategy. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Develop comprehensive sales strategies to identify new business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for new business and take all necessary steps regarding due diligence etc.
  • Take the lead on negotiations, completing new sales and business acquisition deals.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders, from target companies and throughout your wider network.
  • Collaborate with other teams when necessary, to successfully complete sales.
  • Take control of the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to negotiations and closing.
  • Track and report on sales data and metrics, providing regular updates to senior managers in the Sales team.

 

As the Business Development Director, you will have:

  • Proven sales experience, with a strong record of successful deal completions.
  • Strong experience working within an IT services business is essential for this role.
  • Previous technical experience with Cisco and Fortinet systems.
  • Previous experience working in sales in a Managed Service business.
  • A passion for delivering customer excellence.
  • You will have previous experience of conversing with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication, negotiation and person skills.
