An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Network Consultant to join a fast-growing Cheshire based Managed Service Provider. The business partners with multiple leading vendors including Microsoft, Dell, and VMWare.

This role will be a mix of in-office working from the Cheshire office, travelling to and working from customer site, and remote working from home. The business wants to work with you and offers flexibility with remote work for remote customer sites.

 

2nd Line Service Engineer Role

As the business’s newest 2nd Line Service Engineer, you will be responsible for providing onsite and remote support. You will also be responsible for:

  • Providing high-level and technical 2nd line support.
  • Travelling to customer sites to provide on-site support.
  • Taking ownership of customer incidents, providing technical diagnosis and fixing customer issues, either on-site or remotely.
  • Troubleshooting infrastructure support systems to determine a satisfactory incident resolution.
  • This role will require you to go to client site across the north, so a full UK driving license and access to your own car is essential.
  • A proactive attitude and drive to excel, delivering above and beyond on operational KPI’s and customer SLA’s.

 

Skills and Experience Required

Your professional development will be a focus for the business, as it offers funding for training, support with earning certifications, and learning new and emerging tech. The business does however ask that you have:

  • Experience in technical line support in a field engineer capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Servers, desktop operating systems and applications.
  • Experience surrounding Dell or HP servers, Hyper V, VMware, and Windows Servers.
  • A good understanding of Windows Server and Office 365.
  • Experienced with racking and stacking, migrations, installations, and end user support.
  • Knowledgeable in bespoke applications, desktop, mobile, laptop support.
  • Experience working with Active Directory.
  • Must have a UK Driving Licence and access to own car and be commutable to Cheshire.
