Location: Oxford, United Kingdom – Hybrid

 

Due to the continued success of the business and expansion of their team, an industry-leading and world-renowned IT Service Provider is looking for a Network Engineer to join their team on a hybrid and flexible basis.

As their newest Network Engineer, you will be integral in deploying and implementing solutions on the core network. You will have the opportunity to work closely with, and learn from, the senior projects team in implementing solutions: This role is a rare opportunity to work on solutions such as NSX and working with F5.

You will have real collaboration with your team, while flexing your implementation and configuration skills.

You will have the opportunity to work in a hybrid manner out of their brand new, state-of-the-art office. The business is based in the heart of Oxford and is walking distance of Oxford train station.

 

Network Engineer Role Overview

As the Network Engineer, you will look after the project delivery, assist other engineers when necessary, and support their expanding core network. You will, maintain their networks, monitor the core project team, and act as an escalation point to the NOC. Additionally, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Performing implementations and configurations to the core network.
  • Working closely with both technical and non-technical staff.
  • Assist Senior Members of the Projects team.
  • Have the opportunity to work on and further your experience in the full project lifecycle.
  • Act as an escalation point to the network operations team.

 

Skills and Experience required for the Network Engineer

The business is committed to your professional development and offers financial support and time to pursue additional training and certification that will support you in your work. The business does ask that you have:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ technical experience.
  • Ideally currently holding Juniper Certification, however not essential.
  • A high level of understanding of BGP, and MPLS, and OSPF.
  • Experience working in an ISP environment would be beneficial.
  • Experience working with F5 is desired.
  • Any Server experience with Linux or VMware.
