Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in Data Cabling, or an experienced Lead Engineer looking to transition into project management. This role will involve managing IT infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe, focusing on enterprise-level structured cabling, including Cat 5 and Cat 6 installations. You’ll be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet the highest industry standards.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee large-scale Cat 5 and Cat 6 data cabling installations and other related IT infrastructure projects.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Ensure health and safety compliance across all project sites.
  • Develop and maintain project documentation such as risk logs, forecasts, and timelines.
  • Provide regular project updates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate project risks.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and resource management.

 

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in project management or as a Lead Engineer within the data cabling or IT services industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of structured cabling systems, particularly Cat 5 and Cat 6 installations in enterprise environments.
  • Proficiency in MS Project, Word, Excel, and data analysis tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship management skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CTPM, ECS/CSCS, and SMSTS are required; PRINCE 2 or ITIL certifications are desirable.
